In the state of Indiana there are approximately 92 counties one of which is one of the most famous places in the state that goes by the name of Howard County because of its county seat of Kokomo Indiana. Kokomo is seen as the place that the automobile was born. In terms of the Howard County government this is an aspect of the county that has a whole range of functions. The Howard County counsel is an area of the Howard County government that has the job of being the legislative branch in the area. This branch of the Howard County government takes care of all the revenue collection as well as the spending in the county. The members of this branch of the government generally serve for a 4 year term and they have the collective responsibility of taking care of the county annual budget, setting government salaries, as well as imposing some taxes here. This makes this branch a truly important branch of the government.

In addition to this branch of the Howard County Indiana government there are a few others including the board of commissioners. This board is the part of the government that takes care of the acts that are legislated by the county counsel as well as that is responsible for collecting revenue and managing the daily functions of the government. In addition to this the board acts as the executive body to this part of the state. The commissioners are selected from all over the county and a member of this branch of the government typically also serves for 4 years with the most senior member serving as the president of the board. The court is also a very important part of the government in Howard and this branch serves to maintain 3 courts in the county. The judge is appointed for 4 years, similarly to the other branches, and this person has to be a member of the bar association of Indiana in order to serve.
